Essential Oils Dermal Limits
Here are 50 essential oils with their scientific and common names, along with their dermal limits (maximum recommended concentrations for safe skin application)
To determine the dermal limits for both leave-on and wash-off products, it's important to understand that leave-on products are generally more restricted in essential oil concentrations due to prolonged skin exposure. For essential oils, the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) provides guidelines, but often, for wash-off products, safe concentrations can be double those of leave-on products, as they have less contact time with the skin.

These percentages reflect general safety standards for typical leave-on and wash-off products, so depending on your formula and region, always cross-check with up-to-date IFRA guidelines.

*If pregnant or suffering from illness, consult a doctor before use. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. As with all products, users should test a small amount prior to normal extended use. Please note that these dermal limits are general recommendations and can vary based on factors such as age, skin sensitivity, and individual reactions. Always perform a patch test and consult with a certified aromatherapist before using essential oils, especially at higher concentrations.
