I’ve always been obsessed with nice-smelling skincare products. I dabbled with making them several years ago, and let life take me in all kinds of different directions. Motherhood, at the center of it all. As my kids started getting older, and not needing me as much, I started following my dreams.

I’m a writer, I’ve got 3 published books under my belt. They’re fiction and non-beauty related. That was the first dream I tackled. Now, I’m taking a short time away from writing to pursue another dream. Like I said, I’ve always been obsessed with skin care. Lotions, creams, body butters, soaps, and, not to mention, hair care products, as well. And I like all of those things to be natural.

But, I have a dilemma. I’m not a super girly-girl. I’ll probably wear makeup twice a year. That doesn’t include Halloween. I FREAKIN’ love Halloween. It’s my Christmas, so I’ll wear a shit-ton of makeup on that day. The scarier the better. So, back to my dilemma. I hate the color pink and pretty much all things dainty. No offense to you beautiful creatures who do enjoy that stuff. Nothing wrong with it, it’s just not for me.

I’m clumsy. I hate dresses, even though they look so pretty. I like comfortable, casual clothes like, jeans and Tee’s. I’m a Taurus and every bit of a bull in a china shop. I love horror and anything dark. So when it comes to my personal care items, I don’t want that pretty, packaged dainty stuff. Have you seen Etsy?! That stuff is gorgeous, but doesn’t scream my name.

So, because I’m the girl who hates shopping, loves all things black, and even more if there’s a skull involved, I came up with Mayhem by Nature. I’m mostly inundated with “eyebrows on fleek” (just look at my brows. I know some of you are cringing and I don’t care, I like my unkempt brows), plump shiny lips, and ultra-feminine makeup and skin care marketing. I feel out of place in that world, and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one.

​

My tastes are simple. I don’t want a whole lot of fluff. I want healthy products that keep me looking and smelling good. I don’t want a ton of ingredients thrown together to appear exotic(expensive), or have trendy buzzwords in the descriptions. Don’t want the uppity gobbledygook of information about cosmetics. Give me, edgy, with an attitude. I like that shit.

Since I don’t want any of that, I surely won’t give it to you. What you’ll get out of me, is a New York straight-shooter. I don’t have the time, nor the patience for double-talk, or bullshit. Know that, what you see, is what you get. I’m just a girl following her dream, and hoping others will come along for the ride. I’m down-to-Earth and those are the types of products I plan to create.
